  1. Thanks for organising our trip to Dalyan in Turkey Joanne. We had a wonderful time (not just because of the fabulous food and alcohol and apple tea). Every day was different, with something new to challenge our artistic skills each time and I feel that I learnt a lot. Not only were we making quick drawing sketches of subjects and scenes in the market (very testing when people kept moving about) but we had the chance to paint beach scenes, interesting tree scapes, old ruins, running water, boats, lakes, tortoises and of course each other! The group was lovely and I feel we all bonded well, especially during the "Hammam" (not compulsory and an optional extra which most of us braved - well worth the experience if not tried before). Must say, however, I was not too sure about "the hot spring" but I am not saying anymore on that one :-) The weather and lighting were brilliant - it is a trip I definitely recommend to any artist, inexperienced or more practised. Hope to see you all again next year (2015).

  2. I'm a 'several times beginner' but at long last, thanks to Joanne, drawing and painting are starting to come together for me - and it's fun too!

  3. I booked Joanne to attend the four Projects that i run for kids aged between 8-12. The children we aim to support at the project can come from difficult situations and have some complex needs. Joanne was excellent at getting all the children involved and helped encourage our aims for the children to show respect to everyone and help others. Joanne was excellent over all the sessions, the children all enjoyed the night, we had some great photos and all the chidlren had excellent feedback.
Overall i would recommend all to book this fabulous workshop, its good fun and keeps the children entertained throughout.
Thank you again Joanne for providing some great memories for the children to take home from the Project.

  4. I have been attending Joanne's class for a few weeks now and she always makes it interesting and fun. She is a very enthusiastic tutor who encourages students to develop their skills the way they want, with plenty of art knowledge which she is happy to share. I recommend her classes to anyone interested in art, whether it is drawing, watercolour or acrylics.

  5. I am a real beginner and have been enormously inspired by Joanne's classes. She is a great teacher, covering many different media and styles. Suddenly I see the world differently and absolutely love quiet times when I can keep painting. Thanks Joanne.

  7. The art classes are really fun,and for once you can actually improove your work and have it commented on properly, not just being told "oh yeah,it's good."

  8. I have just started art classes with Jo (first time I have dabbled since school!) Jo is really patient and explains things really clearly. I love having a bit of "me" time on a thursday to do something I enjoy. Jo makes Thursdays interesting and challenging.

  11. What fun Joanne's class is! I cannot wait for wednesdays to come round, have only been going for 10 weeks and have the feeling there is a lot more fun and learning to come!
This is by far the best art class I have attended, we were all soon good friends under Joanne's guidance, and it's interesting to see what different pictures we all produce!

  13. I originally wanted to try an art class to learn about watercolour painting, but Joanne's classes have also taught me about other skills and mediums which I have found very interesting and enjoyable. She is very encouraging and I look forward to learning a lot more under her guidance.

  14. Switch 2 Art was a great short course for young people with mental health and isolation issues. Good to see hear some of the participants have integrated into other courses now. Would be great to repeat the sessions some time.

  16. Joanne is a marvellous teacher/tutor, she has enormous patience in helping you to achieve something special. I have spent weeks painting a very detailed picture which I could not have achieved without her support and expertise. Her adult classes are very relaxing and fun. it's the best thing I've done in years and cannot wait for Thursday evenings to come around.

  17. I have joined several art classes over the years and promptly left again, feeling useless and unable to compete with more competent artists. I then saw Joanne's advert for 'classes for beginners'. I immediately joined up and found to my astonishment exactly what I was looking for. I had no confidence at first but Joanne has such a way of teaching that she encourages positivity and offers thought provoking ideas. Her total belief in us all and the individual attention she shows us is brilliant. I was amazed at my grid drawing and when completed could not believe that I had done it. Now framed it has pride of place on the wall at home. What an achievement.! Joanne thank you so much.

  18. I have been wanting to go back to art since leaving school many years ago but have never found the time or the right tutor. Joanne's class is wonderful where everyone can work at their own pace and at whatever discipline they choose. She is supportive and never critical, only about the amount of money I spent on acrylics!!

It is one of those things I will continue with all the while Joanne is there offering the class, it is the greatest way for me to relax and get away from the stresses of work. Thank you Joanne

  19. Jo is a very friendly and approachable teacher, I have a very logical job but Jo encouraged me via her art classes to "look outside of the box". I discovered a part of my character that I never knew existed and a source of true relaxation. I had absolutely no art experience not even from school, at no point did Jo make me feel under any pressure and I thoroughly enjoyed each class. I particularly loved the life drawing and I am looking forward to having a go at sculpture.

  20. Joe's art classes were brilliant fun, and I enjoyed every minute of it! The artwork she does is very good and she is very open about her artwork so it really give you a good idea of what you should be aiming for. Its very therapeutic and calming, so its really good for me when i come home from a long day and then I can just wind down at the classes. I would really recommend people attending even if you have no eperience its good to have a go!
