I started face painting by helping at school fetes when my children were young. I have always loved the reaction children have when they see their painted faces in a mirror - usually complete delight. I now also teach face painting to youths so they can do it themselves.
Casualty Art has developed from face painting and the fact that I have spent most of my life as a nurse.
It has proven to be popular with young children and older teenagers alike.
The young people can be taught to make the wounds themselves within one art session thereby engaging them further on a deeper level allowing the young person to learn and have fun through creativity.
I am keen to hear from organisations in Kent including; youth groups, Police, Social Services, schools, Housing, Association, Mind, Sure Start or any other organisation that may benefit from Casualty art. The art sessions can be used as a platform to facilitate discussions relating to accidents at home, road traffic accidents, domestic violence, knife crime, consequences of drink driving and first aid etc.
