  1. I originally wanted to try an art class to learn about watercolour painting, but Joanne's classes have also taught me about other skills and mediums which I have found very interesting and enjoyable. She is very encouraging and I look forward to learning a lot more under her guidance.

  2. Switch 2 Art was a great short course for young people with mental health and isolation issues. Good to see hear some of the participants have integrated into other courses now. Would be great to repeat the sessions some time.

  4. Joanne is a marvellous teacher/tutor, she has enormous patience in helping you to achieve something special. I have spent weeks painting a very detailed picture which I could not have achieved without her support and expertise. Her adult classes are very relaxing and fun. it's the best thing I've done in years and cannot wait for Thursday evenings to come around.

  5. I really, REALLY enjoy my Thursday art class. I partticularly enjoy the sculpturing and casualty art.

There is always something new to try and Jo always helps me if I get stuck or have a question.

  6. For my A level media coursework I had to create a film trailer and Joanne kindly did some casualty art on me for one of the shots. I was amazed at how realistic the cuts and bruises looked and how well it turned out on camera. Joanne had done a fantastic job and really enhanced my coursework, I would definitely recommend her.

  7. I have joined several art classes over the years and promptly left again, feeling useless and unable to compete with more competent artists. I then saw Joanne's advert for 'classes for beginners'. I immediately joined up and found to my astonishment exactly what I was looking for. I had no confidence at first but Joanne has such a way of teaching that she encourages positivity and offers thought provoking ideas. Her total belief in us all and the individual attention she shows us is brilliant. I was amazed at my grid drawing and when completed could not believe that I had done it. Now framed it has pride of place on the wall at home. What an achievement.! Joanne thank you so much.

  8. I saw Joanne's ad in the local Kent paper whilst on a train for London. Knowing I was due to have an operation in the next 3 weeks and that afterwards I would have to rest for 5-6 weeks (which is almost an impossibility for someone like me) I decided to join up. I was hoping that returning to art after 50+ years would give me a challenge and a "do-able" activity. What a great decision it has turned out to be. Her classes are relaxed, enjoyable and informative. She has a way of teaching that brings out your ability (regardless of what level you are at) that gives you a sense of achievement and a pleasure of the process. Her compliments are genuine and her enthusiasm for the subject is most contagious.

  9. I have been wanting to go back to art since leaving school many years ago but have never found the time or the right tutor. Joanne's class is wonderful where everyone can work at their own pace and at whatever discipline they choose. She is supportive and never critical, only about the amount of money I spent on acrylics!!

It is one of those things I will continue with all the while Joanne is there offering the class, it is the greatest way for me to relax and get away from the stresses of work. Thank you Joanne

  10. Jo is a very friendly and approachable teacher, I have a very logical job but Jo encouraged me via her art classes to "look outside of the box". I discovered a part of my character that I never knew existed and a source of true relaxation. I had absolutely no art experience not even from school, at no point did Jo make me feel under any pressure and I thoroughly enjoyed each class. I particularly loved the life drawing and I am looking forward to having a go at sculpture.

  11. Joe's art classes were brilliant fun, and I enjoyed every minute of it! The artwork she does is very good and she is very open about her artwork so it really give you a good idea of what you should be aiming for. Its very therapeutic and calming, so its really good for me when i come home from a long day and then I can just wind down at the classes. I would really recommend people attending even if you have no eperience its good to have a go!
